The way it handles posts to the front page is weird. You need to make a page then you can post stuff on it. You can’t just start posting.

Also when I started up the account and started to work on the site, it was cluttered too fuck and I couldn’t see where shit was. A nice bug is all of the content that can be edited has a little option bar on the top left. But get this, if you have the content on the far left, then that bar goes off the screen and you can’t edit it. It is too broken. Even adding links require a lot of time. You need to click add, add the info, click ok, then re-click add. WordPress just auto pops up a new entry form.

They have pretty much no widgets. Unless I am missing a ton because I am a trial but still. Pretty much HTML/Text, links, and something to do with Amazon. When adding a widget, it requires a new field then you can add a widget. You do not want to add 2 widgets in the same field because it looks fucked up. No padding so it they touch each other making it look weird.

With them trying to be all Web 2.0, they do not have anything that links things link Twitter or Facebook. Oh, you can make a thing call a Social List. That’s pretty much what it is, just a list. No feeds or anything. Quite stupid.

I think I will not use Squarespace unless I find something that is cool about it. Check it out The “Hawaiian” Gamer. Pissed of about this waste of time.

Hawaiian Gamer Weekly #1 Transcript:

Welcome to the first Hawaiian Gamer Weekly. This is just your basic video podcast for the average gamer. I will not go to long but I will go over what has happened in video game news in the past week, what I have been playing, and what to come up in the coming weeks.

Big things happened this week for the blog. Started to post some Team Fortress 2 screenshots and videos and even got pissed off about demomen.

I even went Web 2.0 with a Twitter RSS feed. Check it out at twitter.com/hawaiiangamer. I have been using Twitter Feed and it is being a bitch. Past 4 articles have not been pushed to Twitter. I tried the WordPress one but it was too generic. It just said posted to Wp.com: PS3 guide then a link to the site. Twitter feed does the title then a short description then link.

I went back to Xfire to check out their video record compared to wegame. It is not bad. A little too compressed but at least it records sound. It seems to record, encode, and leave the raw record file instead of deleting it.

Enough of that, let’s get into the news of the week. So who has a massive game boner for Red Alert for the iPhone. Oh I do. From the screenshots and footage, it looks a washed down Red Alert 3. It would have been sweet for something like the original Red Alert with all the sprites and shit. No official date except for it being released this month. That is what is weird with the App Store. Normally, games get released on Tuesday for disc based games and Thursday for arcade games. I also hope they do a lite version. It looks kind of hard to control the game.

I hated Left 4 dead. I thought it was the second worst game of all time. It was too short and got old too fast. You could tell where shit would spawn after 4 times of doing a level. And 4 campaigns, what the fuck. They did do the DLC but come on. Anyway, someone is releasing a mod this Halloween to homage to dawn of the dead. It looks good. I might give it a shot or shot myself in the head.

Speaking of worst games ever, I finally reviewed it. Killzone 2 they call it. I call it shit. With a record breaking 31 shits in a review, I call it the shit review. It was just utter shit on top of more shit. I do not understand how people can give it such a good review. Gamerankings show an average of 90%. What the fuck. Controls suck, story was too short, multiplayer was unbalanced and old, and DLC map packs were overpriced. Go read my review. It is just bullshit.

That wasn’t the only thing I reviewed. Not many people review services, like PSN or XBOX marketplace. It did a compare and see which one is best with showing pros and cons. I even covered the Wii Shop Channel. It wasn’t pretty. PSN is pretty cool but just cluttered to fuck, XBOX marketplace is simple and clean but uses a fucked up point system, and lastly the Wii Shop is just a bunch of bullshit. It is tied to the fucking console, bullshit.

I posted quite a few videos. This one video of like a billion barrels exploding in Unreal tournament 2004. It was pretty cool. I tried out burn zombie burn and uploaded some footage. Expect a nice review for that game. There was that 15 pixel street fighter video. That was pretty sweet. What else. There was that pretty lame Command and conquer video. Really not looking forward to command and conquer 4. Just getting old I guess. Red alert is different. I posted the trailer for the God of War collection. It looks sweet.

Quite a few deals too this week. From Civilization 4 going for $20 to all of THQ games on steam going for 50% off. Too bad most of them suck. The THQ games I mean.

Some news from fat princess came up. What the fuck are they doing? I hope they are cooking something nice up. They posted some new classes like a month after the games release and there is nothing from there. That urban map looks cool. The latest news is something stupid about controls. Fuck controls, content bitchs. Fuck.

I finished off fable 2. Damn is that a fun game. I do feel ripped of doing the chapter’s thing. They charged me an extra $10. I was hoping for the DLC to be included but I guess not. It affected my review so instead of an A I gave it a B.

Call of duty countdown and shit is going on 1up. Really hope that game is good. I didn’t like call of duty 4. Real SAS are better than the shit you pull off in the game. Fucking hope I am not the only one that buys it. If so I will just buy uncharted 2 or buy it on the 360. Never mind. I will never buy a game that is on PC for the XBOX 360. There was some talk about co-op ruining the story. Fuck man, they could have not just put co-op. I hate games that do shit that end up ruining the game. Like killzone 2, I feel that game could have been better with more time put into single player. Same thing with uncharted 2, why is their multiplayer?

Also don’t forget the contest to win uncharted 2 when you already have it. Fucked up.

News is done. I didn’t expect it to take that long. So what now what have I been playing. I have been mostly playing Team fortress 2. I don’t know why when too many stupid people play it and the classes are broken. Fuck it. I played that burn zombie burn. It is really cartoony but pretty fun. Also been playing this beta for this game, It is complete shit. It has bugs up the ass, like meleeing people from 6 feet away.

That’s pretty much it. What to expect next week, more of the same shit. I do not like wordpress but they do a nice job with themes, layout, and other cool shit. One thing I fucking hate and do not know why they don’t fix it, embedding. You can only embed certain videos. It is broken too fuck. Especially when you post videos not supported by the certain thingy, it is just fucking retarded. I might try the free 14 day trial of square space. Posted embedding videos form wegame or xfire would be nice.

That’s about it. I can’t think of anything more to say. Also I am reading from a script. There is no fucking way I am going to do this and wing it. Fucking transcript will be posted with video. Fuck the link and find the shit yourself.

Third parties not required to release PSP games on PlayStation Store

What do Undead Knights, Naruto Shippuden: Legends: Akatsuki Rising, NBA 2K10, Star Wars: The Clone Wars: Republic Heroes and Cars: Race O Rama have in common? All of these are PSP games released on UMD after the PSP Go’s October 1 launch — and all are currently without a digital equivalent. Owners of the Go system are unable to play these games because they simply aren’t available on the PlayStation Store.

Once again, Sony’s hands-off approach to the PlayStation Network means third parties are responsible for getting their content on both UMD and the PlayStation Store. "It’s up to individual third parties to decide if and when to publish their UMD releases on PSN. Most, if not all, are on board, as this is a revenue opportunity for them," we were told by Eric Lempel, SCEA’s director of PlayStation Network operations. Namco, the one publisher that returned our request for comment, noted specifically that "there are currently no plans to release Akatsuki Rising on PSN right now," despite its October 6 release on UMD.

We highly encourage Sony to make simultaneous digital releases of PSP games a requirement for publishers, not merely a suggestion. The company previously issued a mandate for PS3 games to include trophies in 2009 — a similar policy must be enforced on the PSP. Without it, there’s no guarantee that all future PSP games will ever be playable on the PSP Go.

Enough laughing at people that waste money when you can buy a PSP for easily half the price as a PSPGo. Sorry. Next, God of War Collection has a kick ass trailer for you. This is going to be a high seller this holiday.
